Jinggoy Estrada reacted to the recent news about him
Senator Jinggoy Estrada quipped, “Ito makukulong na raw,” when asked how he is now.
Estrada is being dragged into the issue of the anomalous flood control projects. On several instances, the lawmaker has stressed his innocence.
In one interview, he even said that the accusations against him are just “baseless.” Just recently, reports surfaced that a case against the actor-turned-politician is set to be filed.
Based on the report from The Philippine Star, the Office of the Ombudsman is set to file plunder and malversation charges against Estrada.
Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said on May 26 that the plunder and malversation charges against Sen. Jinggoy Estrada will be filed at the Sandiganbayan on Thursday. This is related to the multi-million peso flood control project, which is allegedly anomalous.
“Hopefully, we will file it first thing in the morning by Thursday,” the Ombudsman said. Remulla said that he would sign the case information against the lawmaker later on Tuesday.
If the filing of the case proceeds, this would mean that Estrada, the third lawmaker charged in relation to the flood control scandal. Previously, former senator Bong Revilla and former lawmaker Zaldy Co were already charged.
Following this news, Pilipino Star Ngayon entertainment writer Salve Asis shared that they asked Estrada how he is now, as they were able to meet at an event.

Meanwhile, Jinggoy Estrada was previously jailed on plunder charges connected to the multi-billion-peso pork barrel scam.
He became the second senator cleared of plunder in this controversy that shocked the nation. His friend and colleague Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was acquitted in July 2021. Both of them were able to return to political arena after the controversy.
