Senior Citizen Passes Away After Being Hit by Vehicle Driven by Allegedly Drunk Teen
A senior citizen died after the car he was riding in was hit by another vehicle allegedly driven by a 16-year-old who had been drinking.
The elderly victim was with his grandson and was on the way home in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental to celebrate his birthday when the incident happened. The supposed joyful family occasion suddenly turned into a heartbreaking tragedy.
Police said the teenage driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle while attempting to overtake a motorcycle. The car then crashed into the vehicle carrying the senior citizen and his grandson.

The impact of the collision caused serious injuries to the elderly passengers. Despite efforts to save him, he later died as a result of the crash. His family, who had been preparing for a birthday celebration, was left grieving over the sudden loss.
Authorities revealed that the 16-year-old driver only had a student permit at the time of the accident. Investigators also said that the teenager admitted drinking alcohol before getting behind the wheel.
The young driver suffered injuries in the crash and was brought to a hospital for treatment. Four other passengers who were with him in the vehicle were also hurt and received medical attention.
