Authorities Arrest 2 Friends for Allegedly Stealing Cellphones From Construction Workers
Two friends were arrested after stealing mobile phones from construction workers at a construction site in Quezon City.
On early Tuesday morning (August 11, 2026), two individuals were nabbed after they were allegedly caught stealing cellphones from a construction site in Barangay Holy Spirit while several construction workers were asleep.
CCTV footage showed the two men climbing onto the rooftop of a building where the construction site was located.

One of them, who had his face covered, allegedly acted as a lookout while his companion, wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, quietly took the cellphones belonging to the sleeping workers.
Before leaving the area, one of the suspects was even seen taking another look around to make sure the coast was clear.
The victims only discovered what had happened after one of them woke up and noticed that his cellphone was missing. He found only the charger left behind. After checking with his co-workers, they realized that their phones had also disappeared
The workers immediately informed their supervisor about the incident. After reviewing the CCTV footage, the supervisor recognized one of the suspects because of a tattoo on his neck. The witness reportedly knew the suspect as a neighbor, which helped authorities quickly track him down.
Police then went to the suspect’s residence and were able to identify the location of his alleged accomplice, a 16-year-old boy. Both were later arrested.
The 20-year-old suspect is now under the custody of the Holy Spirit Police Station. Meanwhile, the minor will undergo the proper social intervention process as required by law.
Investigators said the stolen cellphones had already been sold and were no longer recovered. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine where the devices were disposed of. The two suspects are now facing robbery charges.
