A three-year-old boy falls from stairs but luckily caught by woman who could not use the bathroom because someone was inside.
On Monday morning, August 10, 2026, Rica Mae Dano, a Facebook user, shared a video where she was able to save a child from serious harm after falling from a staircase in Sammy Uy Relocation, KM 11, Davao City.
According to Dano, she had just woken up and was about to use the bathroom around 9:30 a.m. When she knocked on the door, she thought someone was inside because the bathroom was closed and the light was on. Since it seemed occupied, she decided to wait and walk back.
As she was walking away, she noticed the boy she was caring for on the second floor. The child was happily singing while going down the stairs. After a few moments, the child reportedly slipped when his slipper slid on one of the steps.
The aunt looked up and saw the child fall. Without hesitation, she rushed forward and caught him before he could hit the ground.
She later shared that the experience left her shaken and trembling with fear. She could not stop thinking about what might have happened if she had not been there at that exact moment. She believed the child could have suffered serious injuries, especially if his head had struck the floor first.
Fortunately, the child was unharmed thanks to her quick reaction. The woman also plays an important role in caring for the child, especially since the child’s mother is pregnant.
