MMDA Offers Free Towing Service for Vehicles Affected by Flood Across Metro Manila
MMDA is offering a free towing service for vehicles that were submerged or stranded in floodwater due to heavy rain.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced a free towing service for vehicles that were submerged or stranded in floodwaters as heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon, or Habagat, continue to affect Metro Manila.
The announcement came on Tuesday as many roads across the region experienced flooding due to days of continuous rainfall. Several motorists found themselves unable to move their vehicles after floodwaters rose in different areas, leaving many cars stalled or trapped.

To help affected vehicle owners, the MMDA said that vehicles needing assistance may be towed free of charge. The service allows owners to have their vehicles brought either to their homes or to a repair shop, depending on their preference.
However, the destination must be within Metro Manila. The agency encouraged the public to contact its official social media accounts to request towing assistance. Through this service, authorities hope to provide immediate help to motorists who are struggling with the effects of the recent flooding.
The continuous rains have caused major disruptions across Metro Manila. Aside from flooded roads, many commuters and drivers have been stranded due to impassable streets and traffic congestion.

Some residents were also forced to leave their homes as water levels rose in flood-prone communities.
Government agencies have been working closely to respond to the situation and assist affected residents. Emergency response teams have been deployed in several areas to monitor conditions and provide aid where needed.
Malacañang earlier ordered the implementation of alternative work arrangements in government offices in Metro Manila and several provinces. The move was intended to reduce the risks faced by employees traveling during the bad weather and to help ensure public safety.
