2 Police Trainees Arrested Over Alleged Rape of Fellow Trainee in Misamis Oriental
A female police trainee reported the alleged assault by two male police trainees in Misamis Oriental, according to PRO-10.
The Police Regional Office-10 reported that two male police trainees were arrested after being accused of raping a female fellow trainee.
The case came to light after authorities received a report involving an alleged violation of the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
Following the complaint, the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office immediately launched an investigation to gather facts and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to PRO-10, the two suspects and the female complainant were all part of a six-month field training program. The trainees were assigned to different local police stations in Misamis Oriental as part of their practical training before taking on greater responsibilities in law enforcement.
Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, regional director of PRO-10, said the alleged incident is being treated seriously by the organization. He emphasized that such behavior goes against the discipline, professionalism, and values expected from members of the Philippine National Police.
