Claudine Barretto and Kitty Duterte spent time together
Optimum Star Claudine Barretto called Kitty Duterte, the youngest child of former President Rodrigo Duterte, as her “pretty little baby sister.”
Claudine and Kitty made headlines after sharing a private dinner together at a restaurant on Torres Street in Davao City.
On August 23, 2026, the actress posted photos of the meetup on her Instagram account, affectionately calling Kitty her “pretty little baby sister” and expressing her gratitude for the dinner, based on the article in Abante.
One of the photos shows Claudine embracing Kitty. “With my pretty little baby sister @veronicaduterte thank u for dinner my love,” the Optimum Star wrote in the caption of her post.
Claudine is one of the celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry who openly supports the Dutertes. In the past, Claudine has shared posts featuring the members of the Duterte clan, most especially Vice President Sara Duterte.
Back in 2025, conversations surfaced that Claudine might portray Inday Sara in a project. In April 2025, controversial director Darryl Yap announced that Barretto had been officially cast to portray Vice President Sara Duterte in an upcoming biographical film project. The actress publicly thanked Direk Darryl and shared her excitement over the role.
However, as of this writing, no update was shared yet regarding the said project.
The bond between Duterte and Barretto dates back years; notably in October 2019, then-President Rodrigo Duterte personally visited the wake of the Barretto patriarch, Miguel Alvir Barretto, to offer comfort to Claudine and her family.
To recall, the wake became controversial as a confrontation occurred between the Barretto sisters. It is known to many showbiz fans that Claudine Barretto and Gretchen Barretto had an issue with Marjorie Barretto.
Meanwhile, Claudine’s caught the attention of the online community last week when she showed support for Mariel Padilla, after answering bashers who criticized her about her statement that her husband Sen. Robin Padilla passed a law when he was in Bilibid.
