A lady passenger shared an unpleasant experience she allegedly had with a tricycle driver in Kalibo, Aklan.
A female passenger has shared on social media an unpleasant experience she allegedly had with a tricycle driver. The incident prompted discussions about proper treatment of commuters and public transportation etiquette.
According to her account, the incident happened after she spent time with friends near the Provincial Capitol. She later boarded a tricycle to travel to the back entrance of a mall, where her father was supposed to pick her up.
The passenger said she repeatedly informed the driver about her destination and even pointed out the route leading to the mall’s rear entrance. However, she claimed that the driver did not follow the directions she provided and instead began raising his voice during the trip.
The driver allegedly told her to get off the vehicle. The passenger explained that she felt uneasy because it was raining heavily, the area was dark, and she did not have an umbrella with her. She was also concerned about her safety since she was unfamiliar with the exact location where she was being asked to disembark.
The woman further claimed that when she expressed her concerns, the driver responded with harsh and insulting remarks. Feeling frightened and uncomfortable, she reportedly made a video call to her father while still inside the tricycle to let him know about the situation.
The passenger said the driver eventually dropped her off near the entrance of the mall. After getting out of the vehicle, she walked to a nearby eatery while crying and shaking from the stress of the encounter.
She also shared that the incident brought back memories of a similar experience she allegedly faced when she was still in senior high school. The passenger called on tricycle drivers to remain respectful and professional when dealing with commuters during misunderstandings about destinations.
