Bedridden Senior Citizen Trapped Inside Home in Pampanga Rescued
A bedridden senior citizen was safely rescued after being trapped inside his home due to deep floodwaters in Pampanga.
The rescue took place as floodwaters continued to rise in several parts of Barangay Maimpis, San Fernando following days of heavy rain. Many residents were forced to leave their homes, but one elderly couple found it difficult to evacuate because of the husband’s condition.
Reports said the 76-year-old man is bedridden and unable to move on his own. As the water quickly rose to dangerous levels, the couple became stranded inside their house. Due to above head level floodwaters, leaving their home without assistance became nearly impossible.

The man’s wife sought help from their pastor. Upon learning about their situation, the pastor immediately went to the area and gathered people willing to assist in the rescue effort.
The rescuers used a makeshift raft to transport the elderly man to a safer location. They carefully placed him on the raft and began moving through the flooded area toward higher ground.
However, the rescue operation became even more challenging when the raft suddenly overturned while crossing the strong current. For a moment, the situation turned critical as the rescuers struggled against the rushing water.

Despite the setback, the pastor and the other volunteers reacted quickly. They immediately rushed to help the elderly man and successfully pulled him from the floodwaters. Their fast response prevented what could have been a tragic outcome.
After the rescue, the senior citizen was brought to a safer area where he could rest and receive proper care. Reports confirmed that he was in stable condition, and no serious injuries were reported.
