Puerto Princesa Tricycle Driver Speaks Out, Complaining Passengers to Face Case Over Social Media Post
The viral tricycle driver in Puerto Princesa City has finally shared his side of the story following a complaint that spread widely on social media.
The issue started after a post by commuter Zenzen Veranda gained attention online. In her post, she claimed that she and her companion were asked to get off a tricycle after the driver allegedly decided to pick up a larger group of passengers instead.
On Tuesday (September 1, 2026), the driver appeared before the City Traffic and Management Office to explain the details. According to him, the problem started because of a misunderstanding regarding the fare.

The driver said he initially believed that the two passengers would only pay a total of P20 for the trip. Later, he realized that they meant P20 each, not P20 for both of them.
The driver also denied forcing the passengers to leave the vehicle. He maintained that the passengers voluntarily got off and insisted that he did not order them to do so. Because of the online post, he said he felt embarrassed and affected by the negative attention directed at him and his family.
Many netizens pointed out the importance of clear communication regarding fares before a trip begins to avoid similar situations.
