Sara Duterte shared this reminder with the public
Vice President Sara Duterte stressed the importance of teaching students values and good behavior so that groups with evil intentions will not recruit them.
These past few months, several terrifying incidents have happened in schools. Lives were taken in shooting incidents, and what was more heartbreaking was the involved shooters were also students.
Aside from this, students reportedly were also engaging with rebel groups. Allegedly, these students were made to believe certain principles opposing the government.
In an interview last September 25, in Davao City, based on the report from Abante TNT, Vice President Sara Duterte reminded the public of the importance of teaching students the values that they should possess, and the good behavior that they should observe.
For the Vice President, by doing this, the students will not easily be recruited by groups with an unlawful agenda. She pointed out that the Makabayan bloc has been easily and eagerly recruiting college students to join their group.
VP Sara also stressed that the way of raising children and students should be changed, and this should be more focused on good manners. “Kailangan talaga i-rewire, baguhin natin kung paano pinapalaki ‘yung ating mga anak at ating mga estudyante,” she said.
For her, this measure would hinder students from being enticed to join those groups. “Dapat ma-establish ang kanilang values, tamang attitude at proper behaviour para naiintindihan nila kapag nire-recruit sila sa mga hindi kanais-nais na mga agenda, nakikita kaagad nila na red flag ito, hindi ako sasali dito kasi mali ito at hindi ako sasali dito kasi posibleng masira ang buhay ko dito,” the Vice President said.
Meanwhile, in a previous statement, VP Sara Duterte blamed the administration of President Bongbong Marcos for the school shooting incident that happened in Banga, South Cotabato. She pointed out that PBBM’s administration is prioritizing political consolidation over fundamental governance. For her, this will inevitably compromise the children.
