On Thursday morning, October 8, 2026, a man selling bread was injured in a motorcycle accident after reportedly encountering an unrestrained cow along a road in Batan, Aklan.
Roselyn Almontero Martin, a Facebook user, shared a video showing the injured bread vendor following the incident. The post quickly spread on social media and garnered reactions from the online community.
The accident happened in Sitio Culabnog, Barangay Palay, where the man was traveling on his motorcycle while carrying bread for sale. According to one of the people who helped him, the vendor fell after encountering a cow that had been left loose along the road.
Theaccident left the man bleeding and partially unconscious. He reportedly suffered injuries to his head, shoulder, and other parts of his body. The bread he was carrying was also scattered across the road following the accident.
Residents and passing motorists came to the victim’s aid after noticing what had happened. They helped him while waiting for assistance before he was taken to a hospital for medical attention.
Martin also explained that she and her companions were selling their goods in town and were waiting for rescue assistance at the time. Her clarification came after some online commenters questioned why the incident was being recorded instead of immediately calling for help.
Motorcycle riders are encouraged to remain alert, especially when traveling along rural roads where livestock may suddenly appear. Meanwhile, animal owners should ensure that their animals are properly secured to prevent accidents and protect other road users.
