Korina Sanchez was once again asked about the possibility of entering politics
Veteran journalist Korina Sanchez revealed the one condition that will prompt her to run in the 2028 elections.
There is no denying that Korina is a prominent name among the personalities who could potentially win in the next election, should she decide to run.
In fact, the veteran journalist made it into the Pulse Asia survey conducted this September regarding the 2028 elections.
Aside from Korina, her colleagues at the Bilyonaryo News Channel, Edwin Lacierda, Trixie Cruz-Angeles, Jesus Falcis, Barry Gutierrez, Jimmy Bondoc, and Nicolas Torre III, also made the list, based on the article in Abante.
Before the survey was released, Korina was asked about the possibility of running for office, or whether she might actually enter the political arena for good.
“Puwede siguro kung talagang wala na akong pangtutulong, kailangan ko nang gamitin ang kaban ng bayan. Hahahaha!” she jokingly said.
Korina Sanchez added, “Hindi ba? So, hanggang meron pa naman akong way to help other people more directly, you can do…you can help people even without a position!”
Then, she was asked if she were seriously asked to run in 2028, would she do it? Korina admitted that there had been offers to run and she is open to the possibility, but she is not yet sure. She said that she has to convince her husband, Mar Roxas, even though he is not really against the idea.
Korina is also considering the fact that their children, Pepe and Pilar, are still young. She said that if she were to do it, then it should be for one term only because she wouldn’t want to be in power forever.
When asked whether she will run for a local or national position, she said that she really doesn’t know yet, but for her, the national elections are easier because local elections are manual. On the other hand, she clarified that she is not yet certain.
When asked what could possibly convince her, Korina Sanchez said, “What would convince me? Funding! Ayokong mag-abono! Hahahaha! Sa dami ng tinutulungan ko, kailangan kumpleto `yon. So, kung sino man ang gustong tumulak sa akin diyan, kayo ang tumulong sa mga dati kong tinutulungan. Maliit lang ang sweldo ng mga politiko!”
