DOE Eyes Mixed Oil Price Adjustments Starting Next Week

FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Various gasoline stations are set to implement mixed oil price adjustments starting next week.

Starting Tuesday (October 27, 2026), Filipino motorists may face another round of mixed fuel price adjustments with diesel and kerosene prices expected to increase while gasoline prices could become cheaper.

Initial estimates based on the first three trading days in the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) show possible changes in pump prices next week. However, the figures remain estimates and could still change before oil companies announce their final adjustments.

Mixed Oil Price Adjustments

The projected price movements are as follows:

  • Diesel: Increase of P2.70 per liter
  • Gasoline: Decrease of P1.30 per liter
  • Kerosene: Increase of P1.20 per liter

An industry source provided a broader estimate for the week beginning October 26, placing the possible diesel increase between P2 and P3 per liter. Gasoline prices, meanwhile, could drop by P0.50 to P1 per liter.

Mixed Oil Price Adjustments

Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas pointed to renewed tensions in the Middle East as a major factor behind the latest movements in global oil prices. Reports of attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz and Houthi rebel strikes on Saudi facilities have raised concerns about possible disruptions to energy supplies.

The situation has also increased fears that threats to Saudi Arabia’s oil production and alternative export routes could make deliveries from the region more difficult.

These developments pushed international oil prices higher toward the end of the trading week, adding pressure to local fuel price forecasts.

The expected changes follow the previous adjustment on October 20, when gasoline and kerosene prices went down while diesel prices increased.

The Department of Energy is expected to announce the final adjustments on Monday, October 26, before the new prices take effect on Tuesday.
