Mimiyuuuh Opens Up About “Unrelatable” Comments and Her Fear of Going Broke

Social media star Mimiyuuuh has addressed online comments saying she is no longer “relatable,” and she also admitted that the thought of going broke again scares her. She shared this during her guest appearance on Almost Honest, the podcast hosted by Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, as reported by GMA Entertainment.

In recent months, the content creator, who has millions of followers across her pages, has been sharing more fashion content online, including her experience at Paris Fashion Week. Some netizens said this kind of content made her harder to relate to.

According to Mimiyuuuh, people may be reacting this way because they saw her during the time when she had almost nothing. “I feel like sinasabi nilang ‘hindi ako relatable’ kasi nakita nila yung phase na walang-wala naman talaga ako,” she said. She added that some may have been surprised or confused by the kind of content she is making now.

She acknowledged that being relatable matters in her line of work, since her job is to make people happy through her business and social media. Still, she stressed, “at the end of the day, you are living the life for yourself. You should live your life for yourself.”

Kylie, for her part, offered words of encouragement. “Relatability is not your problem, it is their problem. You are meant to do great things. You are meant to have the life you have. And you are meant to grow,” the beauty queen told her guest.

Mimiyuuuh also got candid about money. “Parang nakakatakot yung maging broke. Parang ayoko na nung life na yun to be honest,” she said, explaining that this fear is one of the reasons she has worked so hard. She described herself as a “grinder” who pushed to leave that kind of life behind.

The same episode, which was uploaded on the Almost Honest YouTube channel, also touched on her early days selling clothes in Baclaran, being a breadwinner, and her recent trip to Paris Fashion Week.

Mimiyuuuh’s story shows that growth can look different to the people watching from the outside, but for her, the hard work is about making sure she never goes back to where she started.
