BINI Aiah Reveals She Got Her Shades Back After Monkey Snatch in Bali
P-pop star Aiah Arceta of BINI is laughing off a surprising encounter in Bali after a monkey snatched the sunglasses right off her face, a moment that quickly went viral on TikTok, Philstar.com reported.
In a short clip she posted during her Undas break trip to Indonesia, Aiah is seen posing for a photo while leaning on a stone ledge when a monkey climbs up beside her and pries the shades from her face. The macaque briefly fiddles with the eyewear before scrambling down and running off with its prize. She captioned the post, “Sneaky monkeyy haha.”
Fans who worried about the expensive-looking pair got a quick update. In the comments, Aiah later wrote that she was able to retrieve her sunglasses, adding, “Good news: I got my shades back hahaha,” according to Pilipino Star Ngayon.
The video racked up more than two million views in less than a day, along with hundreds of thousands of likes, and was nearing three million views by Thursday. GMA News also covered the clip, noting how the monkey stole the spotlight from what was meant to be a picture-perfect Bali moment.
Netizens could not stop joking about the mishap. Some said the monkey was lucky to grab a pricey pair of shades, while others said they could not stop laughing after the photo shoot was cut short. A few commenters also reminded travelers that monkeys at popular Bali tourist spots are known to grab sunglasses, phones and hats if items are left within reach.
Aiah’s getaway comes as BINI prepares for the final show of its “Signals” world tour, set for November 15 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Earlier this year, the Nation’s Girl Group made history as the first P-pop act to perform at Coachella and was named among Philippine tourism ambassadors alongside SB19. The group also released “Sama Sama Tayo” earlier in November as a tribute track for the ASEAN Summit hosted in the country.
For Blooms following every BINI update, the Bali monkey clip offered a light, relatable break from the usual stage glamor — proof that even a chart-topping idol can still get outwitted by a sneaky macaque on vacation.
