Zeinab Harake’s Children Lucas and Bia Now Legally Carry the Parks Surname
Content creator Zeinab Harake and basketball player Bobby Ray Parks Jr. have completed the legal adoption of her children, Lucas and Bia, who now officially share the Parks surname, ABS-CBN News reported. The couple documented the milestone in a nearly hour-long vlog titled “Officially Parks,” uploaded on Wednesday, November 4.
“Legally, Parks na kaming tatlo,” Zeinab said as the family headed to the National Authority for Child Care (NACC). There, the family of four rang the agency’s Bell of Joy while staff cheered and bubbles floated around them, according to GMA Entertainment.
Zeinab said her biggest dream was no longer a house, a car or a bag, but a birth certificate showing that she and her kids share one surname. She thanked her husband for embracing Lucas and Bia as his own, saying that when he asked her to marry him, he did not only marry her but also her children.
The road was not easy. Zeinab first tried to process Lucas’s adoption when she was 22, but could not proceed because she had not reached the minimum age of 25 for adoptive parents, PhilSTAR Life noted. The couple later went through home visits by social workers as well as psychological and medical tests. She said Bia’s adoption took about a year, while Lucas’s took nearly five years, with “maraming luha” along the way.
Ray, for his part, said the adoption gives the children a sense of security and belonging as one family. The vlog also showed Zeinab in tears as she received the kids’ updated birth certificates, which were then used to process their passports so the family could fly to Japan to watch Ray play.
The couple also praised the social workers who helped them, with Zeinab expressing hope that their resources would grow, Inquirer.net reported. Zeinab and Ray married in Tagaytay in June 2025. Lucas is Zeinab’s adopted son, while Bia is her daughter with former partner, rapper Skusta Clee.
For a mother who once dreamed of simply sharing a name with her children, the long wait finally ended with the ring of a bell.
