Arnold Clavio shared his thoughts on Women’s rights
GMA News anchor Arnold Clavio has expressed his views on the rise of government officials who disrespect women.
Clavio has been in the broadcasting industry for several decades already, and he has shared his opinions and views about various political and social topics.
Just recently, based on the article in Balita, through his social media post, Clavio slammed those in a position who showed disrespect to women.
For the Kapuso broadcaster, these government officials should not be allowed to be public servants.
“Hindi na dapat mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga katulad nila sa gobyerno na walang respeto sa kababaihan. At bakit sila naglipana? Dahil natatawa pa tayo sa kanilang pagyayabang at papasin na mga kabastusan,” Arnold Clavio stressed.
Then, he asked, “Hindi na ba alam ang pagkakaiba ng tao sa mababangis na hayop?” For him, these kinds of government officials and “predators” have no place in the country. He said that these people should go extinct.
Clavio included in his post a video clip of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who had his infamous “r@pe” joke back in April 2016. The video also featured a clip of Sen. Robin Padilla’s statement regarding his views on marital s*xual consent during the session for the Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media in August 2024.
This was followed by a sexually suggestive pick-up line from Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte and former Pasig congressional candidate Ian Sia’s remark on single mothers.
This post that Arnold Clavio shared came after the viral remark made by Quezon City Congressman Bong Suntay on Kapamilya actress-host Anne Curtis.
To recall, the congressman said that seeing Anne at Sangri-La made his mind imagine things, but for him, there was a crime committed because he did not act on what he was thinking about the actress. His analogy garnered criticism from the online community.
