Baste Duterte shared his thoughts on Bato dela Rosa’s situation
Davao City Mayor Sebastian Baste Duterte has expressed his views on the possibility of the arrest of Sen. Bato dela Rosa by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Following his three-day stay in the Senate with the purpose to vote for Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano to be the Senate President, Dela Rosa once again went missing following the controversial shooting.
Until now, the public still does not know where Dela Rosa is and when the arrest warrant issued by the ICC will be served on him.
Based on the report from Bandera, during the “Rage Coalition” event held in Mindanao yesterday, May 23, Mayor Baste Duterte made a joke about the controversial senator.
If Dela Rosa is caught, he will be taken to the ICC detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands, where the Mayor’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is currently being held on charges of “crimes against humanity.”
According to the ICC, Dela Rosa was one of the main implementers of the war on drugs under the Duterte administration when he was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“Tingnan ninyo anong nangyari sa Senate. Nagputukan. Gusto na naman nila kunin si Bato, ipadala doon sa ICC,” Mayor Duterte said during his speech.
Then, he quipped about the possibility of Dela Rosa being arrested, but he also admitted that it was a bad joke.
“Nalungkot ako at the same time, medyo masaya rin kasi may kasama na ‘yung tatay ko doon, if ever that will happen. It’s a bad joke. It’s a bad joke,” the Davao City Mayor said.
Meanwhile, Mayor Duterte also criticized the administration of President Bongbong Marcos, Jr., and said that he does not want to work under PBBM’s administration.
“Kaya I do not want to work in government for a president na ganito. Because nothing is happening. The people are suffering more and more. And I do not want to be a part of it,” Mayor Baste Duterte stressed.
