Here’s Viral Photo of Bato dela Rosa Praying in Church
BATO DELA ROSA – A photo of Senator Bato dela Rosa kneeling inside a church has taken social media by storm and triggered intense reactions online.
Different reactions poured in from the public after a photo of Ronald dela Rosa surfaced, showing him kneeling in prayer inside a church. The image was shared by the controversial senator’s wife, Nancy dela Rosa, on her Facebook account on February 25. In the photo, Bato can be seen on his knees, solemnly praying inside the church.
In her caption, the senator’s wife expressed her faith that the Lord would not abandon them despite the challenges they are currently facing. “When all else fails, I know You alone will never fail us,” she wrote.

The post quickly drew mixed reactions from netizens. Some critics claimed that the senator was merely seeking sympathy from the public and was allegedly using the church and even the Lord to gain public support. Others questioned the timing of the post, suggesting it was meant to influence public perception amid ongoing controversies.
However, supporters of the senator came to his defense, saying they hope God will listen to his prayers. Many expressed belief in his sincerity and said that turning to faith during difficult times is a natural response for anyone facing trials.
Dela Rosa is among the personalities mentioned by the International Criminal Court as alleged co-perpetrators of former President Rodrigo Duterte in the implementation of the controversial “war on drugs” from 2011 to 2019. The ICC also named fellow senator Bong Go and several officials of the Philippine National Police.

Earlier, a social civil group filed a formal complaint against Dela Rosa due to his prolonged absence from Senate reporting duties. He has reportedly been absent from Senate plenary sessions since November 11, 2025, following the revelation by Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla that the ICC had allegedly issued a warrant of arrest against him.
As the controversy continues, the viral church photo has only intensified public debate, reflecting the deep divide in opinion surrounding the senator and the legal issues he currently faces.
