Bureau of Customs Posts Massive Revenue Boost With P757.4 Billion Collection

BUREAU OF CUSTOMS – The Bureau of Customs is gaining momentum toward its ambitious P1-trillion goal after exceeding its nine-month collection target.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has posted a strong revenue performance after collecting P757.406 billion during the first nine months of 2026, surpassing its target for the January-to-September period.

According to the BOC, its total collection exceeded the P748.494-billion target by P8.913 billion, equivalent to a 1.2 percent increase. The latest figures reflect the agency’s continued efforts to improve revenue collection and meet its financial targets for the year.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno attributed the bureau’s performance to the dedication and commitment of its personnel. He also emphasized that achieving the agency’s P1-trillion collection goal for 2026 is a responsibility shared by everyone within the organization.

“To all our men and women in the Bureau of Customs, the P1-trillion goal is ambitious, but our performance shows that we are on the right track. More than the numbers, these results reflect your hard work, dedication and commitment to public service,” Nepomuceno said.

The bureau’s collection for the first nine months was also significantly higher than the amount recorded during the same period last year. The BOC reported an increase of P55.735 billion compared with its 2025 collection, representing a 7.9 percent year-on-year growth.

The agency said the results demonstrate that its revenue gains are already being reflected in actual collections rather than being based solely on projected figures.

September also contributed substantially to the bureau’s overall performance. During the month, the BOC collected P93.339 billion, exceeding its monthly target of P89.184 billion by P4.155 billion, or 4.7 percent.

September collections also improved notably over the same month in 2025. The agency recorded an increase of P13.056 billion, translating to a 16.3 percent year-on-year growth.

As the BOC continues working toward its ambitious annual target, Nepomuceno reminded personnel to treat the goal as a collective responsibility.

“Let us look at this goal not as a responsibility of a few, but as a shared mission of the entire bureau. Every peso we properly collect goes back to our people, supporting the services and programs they need,” Nepomuceno added.
