Businesswoman Expresses Dismay After Customer Allegedly Tricks Store Employee

A businesswoman has warned other entrepreneurs about a scheme allegedly used by a customer to steal money from their store.

Recently, Kate Marcial, a Facebook user, shared a video showing a man who allegedly stole money from their store. The post quickly went viral on social media and received various reactions from the online community.

According to Marcial, the incident happened at around 9:09 p.m. while she and another staff member were outside the store. Only one employee was left inside to manage the business. Later that evening, the employee contacted them and reported that money had been taken.

At first, the store owners struggled to understand how the incident happened. After reviewing the CCTV footage, they discovered a sequence of events that raised concerns.

According to the employee a man approached and briefly interacted with him. After a few moments, the employee appeared confused and unknowingly handed over cash and even gave change despite not receiving any actual payment.

The entire incident reportedly took place in front of other customers, and it appears like a normal transaction.

The business owner said they could not determine exactly how the man was able to carry out the act. Rather than making assumptions, they chose to share only what was seen on the CCTV footage and what the employee remembered from the encounter.

Although the amount of money involved was not large, Marcial emphasized that every peso matters to small businesses. More importantly, she said the incident reminds them that some individuals may take advantage of employees through deceptive tactics.

Kate hopes other businesses will become more alert and avoid falling victim to similar incidents in the future. Awareness, preparation, and proper procedures remain important tools in protecting both employees and businesses from possible scams.
