CCTV Camera Installed to Monitor Thieves Stolen in Dumangas, Iloilo
A family was surprised after the CCTV camera they installed to monitor potential intruders was stolen in Dumangas, Iloilo.
Recently, the Facebook page Dumangas Ang Banwa Ko shared a photo of the CCTV camera stolen from a house. The post quickly went viral and earned various reactions from the online community.
The incident happened in Barangay Paloc Sool, where the family placed a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera to help protect their property and keep an eye on suspicious activities.
According to Mae, a 34-year-old former overseas Filipino worker, she noticed that the camera was missing when she looked outside their house one morning. The family believes the theft may have happened on Tuesday night, October 20, 2026.
The incident left the homeowner disappointed, as the CCTV was supposed to help them monitor their surroundings and identify anyone who might attempt to enter their property.
Some people found the situation ironic because the very device meant to help monitor thieves had become a target of theft itself. Others expressed concern about the need for residents to remain careful and protect their belongings.
Following the incident, Mae decided to order another CCTV camera for their home. However, instead of placing it outside again, she plans to install the replacement inside their house to reduce the risk of having it stolen.
Although CCTV cameras can help improve home security, careful placement and other safety measures remain important in protecting properties.
