DILG chief Jonvic Remulla has offered a P10 million reward in exchange of an information that could lead to the arrest of Atong Ang. Shortly after the Interior Secretary expressed the reward, he even claimed that he might increase it.

“Malapit na. Kung ako mapikon talagang dadagdagan ko na ‘yan,” Remulla expressed.

Previously, the DILG chief claimed that they “almost caught” Atong Ang. However, he was no longer in the area where he was spotted when they arrived. The Interior Chief recently spoke the details about their operation.

Atong Ang

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, DILG Chief Jonvic Remulla claimd that there was an actual report that Atong Ang was seen by a trusted informant who reported his whereabouts. However, they arrived a day late at the unverified location.

“There was an actual report of an eyeball contact. Ibig sabihin nun, nakita siya in person. Immediately, gumawa kami ng follow-up operations. Namintis namin. So ang last report ay nakita siya rito sa Pilipinas,” the DILG Chief said.

Interior Sec. Jonvic Remulla further claimed that he was part of the raiding team in the operation to arrest Atong Ang. Based on the report, the recent report came amid the report of the possible presence of the wanted businessman in Vietnam.

“I was personally part of the raiding team. Pumunta ako mismo. Pero hindi namin siya naabutan… As I told you before, raw intelligence reports ‘yun na nandodoon siya. But apparently, on that very same day, may nag-report na na eyeball. So, gumawa na kami ng operations,” the DILG Secretary said.
