Dog Dragged by Tricycle Along Road in Batangas
A disturbing video showing a dog being dragged along a road by a moving tricycle in Batangas has raised concern among animal lovers.
On Wednesday evening (October 7, 2026), the small dog was seen being dragged behind the tricycle as it continued traveling along the Bauan-San Pascual Road.
Facebook user Angel Luzon shared the video on social media. Angel said she and her companion were riding motorcycles when they noticed the dog being dragged. They immediately followed the tricycle and tried to get the driver’s attention to make him stop.

According to Luzon, they followed the vehicle from near a fast-food restaurant in Bauan to an area in front of a supermarket. They reportedly shouted at the driver and tried to approach him, but he continued driving despite their warnings.
Luzon also said they could not clearly identify the tricycle’s plate number or get a complete view of the driver’s appearance. However, she believed the dog was still alive at the time because it could still lift its head while being dragged along the road.
Following the incident, Luzon appealed to the public to treat animals with kindness. She reminded pet owners that if they could no longer care for their animals, they should find someone willing to adopt them instead of hurting or abandoning them.
Animal rights advocate Jana Sevilla, a former animal rescue manager of PETA Asia, described the incident shown in the video as a possible act of animal cruelty that should be investigated. She also stressed that animals are protected under Philippine law.
Sevilla encouraged people who witness animal abuse to report it to the police so authorities can take appropriate action. She emphasized that animal protection laws apply throughout the country.
Meanwhile, Luzon called on authorities, animal welfare groups, and animal protection organizations to look into the incident and hold those responsible accountable if wrongdoing is established.
