Drug Suspect Recites Bible Verses After Cops Arrest Him
A drug suspect in Dinalupihan, Bataan, repeatedly recites Bible verses after the police authorities arrived to arrest him.
On August 24, 2026, a man causing a disturbance outside his own bakery draws concern from nearby residents. The concerned residents sought help from local authorities after noticing the man shouting in front of his establishment.
Witnesses said his behavior alarmed people in the area, especially after reports surfaced that he was carrying a firearm.
The suspect, identified only by the alias Paeng, received complaints from several residents who feared for their safety. Police officers and barangay personnel responded to the scene and eventually took him into custody.
During the operation, authorities observed that the man repeatedly recited Bible verses while speaking to officers. Reports noted that he continued mentioning passages about loving one’s enemies and avoiding judgment even after he had been apprehended.
According to barangay officials, the situation had already caused anxiety among residents before police arrived. Because of concerns that the man was armed, authorities immediately assessed the situation to prevent it from escalating further.
Police later recovered a sling bag allegedly belonging to the suspect. Inside, officers reportedly found a firearm loaded with ammunition. Authorities also seized three packets containing a substance suspected to be shabu.
The authorities also found additional ammunition scattered inside the suspect’s vehicle. Investigators documented the items as part of the ongoing case.
Police said the suspect was difficult to interview because of his condition at the time of the arrest. However, he allegedly admitted to using illegal drugs and also provided information about where he obtained them.
The man also reportedly acknowledged ownership of the confiscated firearm and claimed that he possessed a license for it. Authorities are currently verifying the status and validity of the documents.
The suspect is expected to face complaints for alarm and scandal as well as possible violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
