Drunk Uncle Accidentally Shoots 12-Year-Old Nephew in Right Foot While Playing Firearm
MAGSINGAL, ILOCOS SUR – A drunk uncle accidentally shoots his 12-year-old nephew in the right foot while with the firearm.
On Wednesday evening, August 19, 2026, a 12-year-old boy underwent surgery after he was accidentally shot in the right foot by his allegedly drunk uncle. According to the police investigation, the boy was doing his school assignment at home when his 41-year-old uncle arrived, reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
The man allegedly took out his revolver and removed its bullets. He then started playing with the firearm and repeatedly pulled the trigger. On the third attempt, the gun suddenly went off because one bullet had apparently remained inside.
The boy was sitting near his uncle when the firearm discharged, hitting him in the foot. He immediately sought help from his parents, who rushed him to a hospital for treatment.
The young victim underwent surgery to remove the bullet from his right foot. His family stayed by his side as he received medical care following the incident.
When police officers arrived to investigate, the crime scene had already been cleaned. However, authorities were still able to identify and arrest the suspect after one of his siblings pointed to him as the person who accidentally shot the child.
