A female graduate touches many hearts online after honoring her late father by placing 13 medals on his standee.
Princess Mai Roxas, who graduated from Lucban Elementary School 2 in Lucban, Quezon, brought with her a standee of her father, who passed away 13 years ago. Even though he was no longer physically present, she made sure he would still be part of her big day.
As she went up the stage to receive her recognition during a simple graduation ceremony, Princess Mai proudly carried her achievements with her. During the photo-taking, she carefully placed all 13 of her medals on her father’s standee.

Each medal symbolized not just her hard work, but also the years she spent growing up without him.
From a young age, Princess Mai had made a promise to offer every success to her father. On her graduation day, she finally fulfilled that promise. Her gesture showed how much she still values his presence in her life, even after many years.
Though she lost her father early, Princess Mai did not grow up alone. Her mother and stepfather stood by her side and supported her every step of the way. In fact, it was her stepfather who helped prepare the standee, showing his understanding and love for her feelings.

After the ceremony, the family went straight to the cemetery. There, Princess Mai offered her diploma and medals once again, along with a renewed promise to keep striving for their shared dreams.

Aside from her academic success, Princess Mai is also active in sports. She competed as a swimmer in the RAAM Regional Athletic Meet 2026, representing the province of Quezon.
