Female Netizen Nearly Falls Victim to Elderly Woman Using Familiar Scheme

A female netizen was nearly tricked by an elderly woman who introduced herself as her former teacher.

Recently, Marjorie April Flores Domingcil, a Facebook user, shared her experience after being approached by an elderly woman on the street who claimed to be her teacher. The post quickly went viral online and received various reactions from netizens.

According to her, she was walking along Session Road when an older woman, believed to be around her 50s, suddenly approached her and acted as if they already knew each other very well.

The elderly woman warmly greeted her and asked how she had been, which initially made Marjorie think that the woman might truly know her. Out of politeness, she responded and asked who she was talking to.

The woman then introduced herself as Ms. Mendoza, supposedly one of Marjorie’s high school teachers.

However, Marjorie quickly realized something was wrong because she could not remember having a teacher by that name during her school years. The woman then changed her approach and continued the conversation in a more personal manner, saying that Marjorie may no longer recognize her because of how much time had passed.

As the conversation continued, the elderly woman eventually asked for help, saying she needed money for medicine worth P220. At that moment, Marjorie started to suspect that the friendly conversation may have only been a way to gain sympathy and ask for cash.

Instead of giving the full amount, she told the woman that she had already used most of her money for groceries and only handed over P30 for transportation. Afterward, she observed the woman from a distance and allegedly saw her approach another passerby using the same method.
