On Thursday afternoon (October 1, 2026), the classes were about to begin when the incident happened inside the school hallway. Authorities said a Grade 10 student allegedly attacked the older student, causing panic among those who witnessed the incident.

School Stabbing Incident

Police recovered a folding knife believed to have been used in the attack. Investigators revealed that although security personnel use a metal detector at the school gate, the weapon reportedly went undetected because the suspect allegedly hid it inside his underwear before entering the campus.

While police did not provide an official on-record interview, the initial findings suggest that the incident may have been connected to an ongoing conflict between two groups that included both the suspect and the victim.

The minor suspect is now under the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD). Authorities and social workers are conducting the necessary interventions for those involved in the case.

Meanwhile, police are also verifying reports of a possible shooting threat at Bacarra National Comprehensive High School in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

According to authorities, information reached them about an individual who was allegedly heard mentioning a possible shooting inside the school. Police immediately coordinated with school officials and implemented precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff.

The school clarified that it had addressed two different safety concerns. One involved a student who allegedly posted statements on social media that raised concerns about school safety. School officials said the matter was addressed before classes ended, and efforts were made to coordinate with the student’s parents for proper intervention.

The school also stated that there was no verified shooting threat based on the information available at the time. Classes and school operations resumed normally on Friday (October 2, 2026), while authorities continued monitoring the situation.

School officials and police urged the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified
