Palace answered the recent fiery statement from Sen. Imee Marcos
Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Usec. Claire Castro retaliated against Sen. Imee Marcos after her “patutsada” against her brother, President Bongbong Marcos
Castro did not miss the senator’s slur against the President in her Holy Week content released on Facebook.
Based on the video that Sen. Imee posted on social media with the theme “Pagsisisi at Pagpapatawad,” she apologized to her father, former President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr., for not being able to watch over her younger brother, PBBM, properly.
“Hindi ko nabantayan, e. Kaya, Dad, sinikapan ko talaga, pinagpilitan ko. Nayayamot na nga sa akin si Bongbong. Alam ko naman, pero hindi ko talaga kinaya,” the Senator said.
Sen. Imee also apologized to Vice President Sara Duterte because for her, she put her friend at risk. The Senator also shared that she really convinced the Vice President to run for president in the 2028 elections.
The Malacanang Palace, through Castro, responded to Sen. Imee Marcos’s statement during a press briefing and asked who was really the one whose parents failed to watch over and who was able to watch over their sibling between him and PBBM.
The Undersecretary highlighted the traits and characteristics of the President which contradicted the “patutsada” from his older sister.
“Sino kaya talaga ang hindi nabantayan ng magulang at sino ba talaga ang hindi nabantayan ang kapatid? Unang-una po, ang Pangulo at hindi po ito nagmumura, hindi ito nagme-meltdown lalo na sa publiko, at hindi po ito nagbabanta sa buhay nino man. Ang Pangulo po ay ikinasal, may pamilya, hanggang ngayon ay faithful sa asawa,” Castro pointed out.
The Palace Press Officer also asked a series of questions to point out the difference between the President and the Senator.
“So sino po kaya ba ang naging pasaway? Sino po kaya ang dapat na binantayan? Ang paghihingi ng patawad, ‘yon pang hindi pagbabantay sa kaniyang kapatid o ang paninira ng kapatid sa publiko?” Castro said.
She also said that the President knows what is happening to the Filipino people and the events around us. Then, Castro stressed that people can expect that the President will not slander his sibling.
