Sen. Imee Marcos Hits Unnamed Individuals over Impeachment Proceedings

IMEE MARCOS – The Senator slammed the government officials who are focusing on impeachment and politics.

The Philippines is one of the countries that are currently faced with soaring oil costs due to the ongoing war in the Middle East. President Bongbong Marcos has declared a State of National Energy Emergency to open the government to a lot more options amid the situation.

Marcos Jr. stressed that the declaration of a State of National Energy Emergency is not meant to cause panic among the people. According to him, that is why the declaration specified “energy” as it is pertaining to the situation amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.

The President explained that the limited passage to the Strait of Hormuz is affecting a lot of Asian countries including the Philippines which is highly dependent on imported oil. Recently, amid the problem with the high costs of oil in the Philippines, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos chided the government officials over impeachment proceedings.

“May namumuong digmaan, P140 per litro na ang Diesel. Hindi na namamasada ang mga tsuper… Ang inaatupag niyo ay impeachment at pamumulitika,” the Senator said.

Furthermore, based on the post, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that those government officials who are focusing on impeachment proceedings have allegedly been blinded by the will to take revenge. She left a question for these unnamed officials of the government:

“Nasaan ang kaluluwa niyo para magsilbi sa bayan? Binulag na kayo ng paghihiganti at kasakiman sa kapangyarihan,” Marcos expressed.

While Sen. Imee Marcos did not specify names, with regards to ongoing impeachment proceedings the House Committee on Justice has recently held the first hearing on the impeachment complaints against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Vice President did not attend the said ‘mini-trial’.
