JV Ejercito Sees Big Revelations Coming As Zaldy Co Faces Senate Inquiry

Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito believes that growing unease is beginning to spread among certain individuals following the return to the Philippines of former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co.
According to Ejercito, many are now feeling anxious as Co prepares to face ongoing investigations related to alleged irregularities in several flood control projects that have recently come under scrutiny. The senator suggested that Co’s testimony could have far-reaching implications, particularly if he decides to reveal details about those who allegedly influenced the allocation of funds and the implementation of these projects.
Ejercito expressed confidence that significant revelations may surface once Co begins to speak openly about the individuals and processes involved. The investigations have already raised serious questions about how public funds were managed and whether proper procedures were followed in executing these infrastructure projects.
The senator also supported the plan of Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Panfilo Lacson to invite Co to attend the continuation of the hearings. Lacson has been leading the inquiry into the alleged anomalies and is expected to further probe key figures linked to the controversy. Ejercito also agreed with the proposal to summon military personnel who were reportedly involved in transporting large sums of money, allegedly carried in suitcases, as part of the investigation.
In previous hearings, several individuals who testified pointed to Co as someone who played a significant role in the allocation of funds and the identification of specific projects. These claims have added weight to calls for a more thorough examination of his involvement.
Co previously served as the head of the House Committee on Appropriations, a powerful position responsible for overseeing government spending. His leadership role has placed him at the center of the controversy.
Regarding the signing of the partial committee report prepared by Lacson, Ejercito emphasized the importance of completing the hearings first. He believes that allowing the investigation to run its full course will ensure that the final report is comprehensive and reflects all relevant findings.
