Mar Roxas for president? This is what Korina Sanchez said about this.
Veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez has addressed speculations about her husband, former senator Mar Roxas.
Will former senator Mar Roxas make a political comeback, particularly in the 2028 presidential elections?

Speculation about a possible political comeback has been circulating online, but veteran broadcast journalist and television personality Korina Sanchez has addressed the issue directly. Recently, Korina clarified the matter and reiterated that her husband, Mar Roxas, has no plans to return to politics.
According to Sanchez, Roxas is no longer interested in seeking public office. She gave a straightforward response when asked about the possibility of her husband running for president again, saying, “Ayaw na niya.”
The statement comes amid renewed discussions about potential presidential candidates for the 2028 elections. Roxas’ name has resurfaced in political conversations, with some personalities reportedly encouraging him to return to public service.
Sanchez revealed, “Ayaw na niya, eh. I get it. Inaalok ngang maging talk show host. Sabi ko, ‘Tumigil ka. Naging presidential candidate ka na. ‘Wag ka nang mag-host-host pa ng programa.’”
She then went on to praise her husband’s passed law and reforms. She also addressed rumors that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. once offered Roxas a cabinet position.
“Ang alam ko, may mga alok siya. Pero alam n’yo, pati sa akin, hindi niya sinasabi sa akin. May mga alok siya pero ang alam ko ay ayaw na talaga niya,” she expressed.
Roxas has had an extensive political career. He served as a congressman representing Capiz’s first district before becoming senator and later holding cabinet positions. He ran for vice president in 2010 and for president in 2016 but did not win either race.
When his Senate bid ended in 2019, he largely stepped away from politics and settled into living a quiet life.
