Ping Lacson said that Loren Legarda regretted this decision
Senator Loren Legarda admits she made a mistake in deciding to join the minority bloc led by Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, according to Senator Ping Lacson.
Legarda is currently in France receiving treatment for a serious lung condition, with her medical leave extended until October 9, 2026.
Her long absence has sparked public attention and a preliminary investigation by the Ombudsman into her and her son, Rep. Leandro Leviste, for alleged irregularities in solar energy projects. She called the allegations baseless.

Based on the report from Abante, Sen. Ping Lacson revealed that he and Sen. Loren Legarda had spoken, and she expressed regret over moving to Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano’s group.
Legarda was also reportedly dismayed because the Senate President Pro Tempore was no longer responding to her messages.
“Yun huling usap naming, na nagkamali raw siya. Sabi ko, kalimutan mo na yun. Tapos na `yun,” Lacson said in a recent interview on DWIZ.
Lacson said that he has no problem with Legarda returning to their group in the Senate. “Welcome naman namin siya na bumalik,” he said.

Legarda joined Cayetano’s group and supported his bid for the Senate presidency. She is currently on medical leave abroad due to an alleged illness.
Lacson reportedly urged Legarda to return to the Philippines if her health permits, though the decision to return remains entirely up to the senator.
“Kung kaya ng health niya, I would suggest na bumalik na dito. At the end of the day, sarili niyang desisyon ‘yan,” Sen. Ping Lacson said.
Sen. Loren Legarda filed for medical leave starting August 3, 2026, and traveled abroad. Previous reports stated that Legarda and his son might apply for political asylum.
