Man Sustained Injuries After Being Beaten by Two Individuals in Kalibo
A man was injured after he was reportedly beaten by two still unidentified individuals at Capitol Site in Kalibo.
On early Friday morning, the victim and his companion were suddenly approached by two men wearing hoodies. One was wearing green, while the other was wearing black. The victim believed the two men might have been under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs because their eyes were red and their actions seemed unusual.
Before the attack happened, the suspects were reportedly harassing an attendant at a nearby establishment. The area was already tense because of their behavior. As the victim and his companion were about to leave, the suspects suddenly started throwing punches.
The victim’s companion was hit on the helmet, which protected him from serious injury. However, the suspects then turned their attention to the victim. He was punched repeatedly in the face until he fell to the ground.
Even after he was down, the two men continued kicking him. The victim was able to escape when he managed to run and hide behind another establishment. One of the suspects chased him, but they eventually stopped when residents nearby tried to step in and calm the situation.
Before leaving on their motorcycle, the suspects reportedly threw objects at some bystanders in the area.
The victim suffered injuries on his face and knee. He immediately went to the police station to report the incident. Witnesses were also able to take photos of one of the suspects and the plate number of their motorcycle, which may help authorities in their investigation.
Police are continuing their search for the suspects as the investigation moves forward.
