Motorcycle Rider Suffers Injuries After Crashing Into Parked Truck
A motorcycle rider was injured after crashing into the back of a parked truck at a stoplight in Pasig City and even caused trouble during rescue.
Around 1:00 a.m, a motorcycle rider sustained injuries after crashing a into a parked truck along C5 Lanuza Avenue in Barangay Ugong. According to reports, several vehicles were already stopped at the traffic light, including the truck, when the rider suddenly hit it from behind.
CCTV footage showed that the truck was not moving at the time of the accident, making the impact more surprising to those who later saw the video. Witnesses said the crash was strong enough to slightly move the truck forward.
The force of the collision showed how fast the motorcycle might have been going before the impact. The truck driver shared that they were traveling from Taytay, Rizal and were on their way to Taguig when the incident happened.
Barangay personnel who responded to the scene confirmed that the rider appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Instead of staying calm while being helped, the injured rider reportedly became angry and acted aggressively.
Rescuers had a hard time assisting him as he resisted help and even tried to lash out at those trying to bring him safety.
Despite the difficult situation, responders were still able to bring the rider to the hospital for proper treatment. Authorities are still trying to get a statement from him once he is in better condition.
The police continue to investigate the incident to determine the full details.
