Motorcycle Rider Sustained Injuries After Hitting Loose Dog in Pangasinan
A motorcycle rider was injured after hitting a loose dog while traveling along a road in Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
CCTV footage showed two dogs crossing San Jose Street in Barangay Guiguilonen moments before a motorcycle approached. At first, the dogs seemed to have cleared the road.
However, one of them suddenly ran back into the street just as the rider was passing by. The motorcycle struck the dog, causing the rider to lose control and crash.
The rider was thrown onto the road and rolled several times. He suffered cuts and bruises on different parts of his body. According to his aunt, he was on his way home from work when the accident happened. The normal trip home turned into a painful and frightening experience.
The dog’s owner explained that he lets his dogs roam freely at night to help guard their area against thieves. He believes that dogs serve as protection for their property and neighborhood. However, the practice has raised concerns, especially after the accident.
The rider and the dog’s owner later met at the barangay to talk about the incident. They discussed possible assistance for the rider, especially since he may not be able to work for a few days due to his injuries.
