Niño Muhlach Admits Full Responsibility for Antipolo Vehicular Accident
NIÑO MUHLACH – A shocking revelation from Niño Muhlach has shed new light on the Antipolo accident after the former child star admitted that fatigue played a major role in what happened.
Former child star Niño Muhlach has publicly taken full responsibility for the vehicular accident that occurred in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo, on Sunday, August 23.
In a Facebook post on Monday, August 24, Muhlach clarified reports surrounding the cause of the crash. He explained that the initial information pointing to mechanical failure did not come directly from him but was based on the police’s preliminary findings.
“The initial information released stating that the crash was caused by mechanical failure was based solely on the preliminary findings of the police investigation, not from my own words,” said Niño.
Muhlach then acknowledged that he was responsible for the incident, revealing that he had fallen asleep while driving. According to the former child star, he had been dealing with an extremely demanding and exhausting schedule. Since the accident happened on a Sunday, his regular driver was also on a scheduled day off, leaving him to drive himself.
“I want to be completely clear and honest: the accident was entirely my fault. Due to an extremely demanding and exhausting schedule, I fell asleep behind the wheel. Because the incident occurred on a Sunday, my regular driver was on his scheduled day off, and I was driving myself.”
He also admitted that fatigue should never be considered an excuse, especially when driving, and recognized the consequences of briefly losing consciousness behind the wheel.
“While fatigue overtook me, that is no excuse. Falling asleep at the wheel led directly to hitting a pedestrian and damaging neary accident,” Niño added.
Following the accident, Muhlach said he is prepared to accept personal and legal responsibility for what happened. He also emphasized that his immediate priority is to make sure that those affected by the incident receive the assistance and support they need because of the harm caused.
The actor expressed deep regret to the victim, the victim’s family, and everyone affected by the accident. He also assured the public that he is cooperating with authorities as the investigation and resolution of the matter continue.
“I am deeply sorry to the victim, their family, and everyone affected by my negligence. I am fully cooperating with authorities as this matter is being resolved,” the former child star added.
