Nursing Student Helps Woman Give Birth Inside Car in Cebu
A nursing student became an unexpected hero after helping a woman safely give birth inside a vehicle in San Fernando, Cebu.
On October 2, 2026, a woman suddenly went into labor while traveling in a car in Skina Campaog, Upper Volta, Pitalo. The ordinary trip to seek medical care quickly turned into an emergency as the baby was ready to be delivered before they could reach a hospital or health facility.
At around 7 a.m., people in the area noticed that the mother was already giving birth inside the vehicle. With no medical team immediately available and every minute becoming critical, those nearby looked for someone who could help.

Fortunately, Angel Quiñanola, a nursing student from the University of Cebu Banilad, was present during the incident. Despite the unexpected situation, she immediately stepped forward and used the knowledge and skills she had gained through her nursing training to assist the mother.
In the video, Angel can be seen helping during the delivery and later clamping the newborn’s umbilical cord. Her calm response and willingness to help played an important role in ensuring that both the mother and baby received immediate assistance during the emergency.
Witnesses said Angel did not hesitate when she saw the family’s urgent need. Even though the childbirth happened outside a hospital setting, she remained focused and provided support until the baby was safely delivered.
The newborn successfully came into the world inside the vehicle before professional medical personnel arrived. Thankfully, the situation ended on a positive note, bringing relief to the mother, her family, and everyone who witnessed the event.
