Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Slams Alleged Legacy of Pres. Bongbong Marcos
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman hit President Bongbong Marcos over his alleged legacy as leader of the Philippines.
Countless people remain calling for accountability over the supposed multi-billion corruption in the Philippines through the flood control projects. Several officials of the government were dragged in the issue.

The alleged involvement of several members of the House of Representatives and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) as well as some senators and former senators triggered the so-called “Trillion Peso March”. Two (2) grand rallies were held in 2025 to protest against the supposed corruption in the government.
Amid the call for accountability, Malacañang recently denied that the Marcos Jr. administration has allegedly forgotten the flood control mess. Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has submitted the flood control documents to the Ombudsman and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The ICI was created upon the order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the flood control mess. It has invited several government officials including president cousin and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and presidential son and Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos who were tagged in the flood control mess to its hearing. Even the Chief Executive himself was tagged in the corruption issue and the Palace dismissed it.

The operation of the ICI lasted in March 2026. Following the winding down of its investigation, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte and the other Dutertes in the House sought for a copy of the flood control report of the ICI. Recently, the eldest son of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte hit Pres. Bongbong Marcos over his alleged legacy.
Based on News5, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte claimed that the alleged legacy of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is supposedly his corruption and weakness. He also added to the list his alleged incapacity to attend to the simplest problems of the people.

“Your legacy is your corruption, your weakness, your inability to address the simplest of problems of every Filipino,” the Davao Congressman said based on the post.
Previously, the Palace reacted to the remarks of Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte over the burial of the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the Heroes’ Cemetery during the term of his father.
