Harry Roque criticized the latest video of PBBM in which he was seen running outside the palace
Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Usec. Claire Castro has once again lashed out at former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque for his remark on President Bongbong Marcos (PBBM).
Roque’s remark was connected to the reports that the President is struggling with his rumored health condition.
Based on the report from Bandera, Roque slammed PBBM for running outside Malacañang on Monday, April 13, while reporters were following him, amid allegations that his health condition was serious.
Roque, who is a known ally of former President Rodrigo Duterte, said, “It’s better to release a medical bulletin than to run a few meters.”
Castro, in turn, said that it was better for the president to run a few meters than to run from the law.
“Para po sa Pangulo, gusto lamang niyang ipakita sa mga nagmamahal sa kaniya at sa taumbayan kung ano ba talaga ang kaniyang health condition,” she said, adding that this was intended to debunk the lies that had been circulating.
“Ang pagtakbo po ay hindi masama. Mas maganda po na tumakbo ng ilang metro kaysa tumakbo sa kamay ng batas,” the Palace officer added.
Castro even recalled Duterte’s past actions of not appearing before the Filipino people for several weeks. She pointed out that FPRRD’s allies were also defending him, and among them were Harry Roque and former Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella.
The Palace officer also stressed that at that time, Abella even said that there was no need to release Duterte’s health records.
Castro also mentioned that back then, Roque said that he didn’t think that the people should worry about the lack of transparency because the President himself would say what his condition is.
“So, nakita na po natin kung ano ang kondisyon ng Pangulo. Kayo po mismo ang saksi sa ganitong mga paninira nanggaling lamang sa kampo ng nais na pabagsakin ang Pangulo, sila po ay mapanira lamang at walang magawa sa buhay,” the Undersecretary said.
