Sen. Robin Padilla shared a post defending his wife
Senator Robin Padilla has gone into “beast mode” against the bashers of his wife, celebrity vlogger Mariel Padilla, following the resurgence of her viral video originally posted in 2022.
In the video, Mariel defended her husband against those who had questioned his qualifications when he ran for the Senate.
She pointed out that the actor-politician is a criminology graduate and that when he was still in Bilibid, “nakapagpasa na ng batas without even being Senator.”
This was recalled by netizens because of recent criticisms against the Senator following his controversial statements. Because of this, Mariel Padilla received bashing.
Following the backlash, the celebrity vlogger clarified her past statement, stressing that people have taken what she said literally, and that common sense is uncommon.
With her clarification, Mariel received another round of bashing, but her husband was so much ready to defend her as well, based on the article in Bandera.
The action star-turned-politician claimed that this issue is being used to divert attention from important social issues. He also defended the wife of his ally, Sen. Bato dela Rosa.
“Ika nga ng mga Kano, ‘Wag the Dog!’ Lilihisin lang ang isyu mula sa tunay na isyu, kaya taya ang asawa ko at si carding sungkit,” he stressed.
