Robin Padilla says Majority rules!
Senator Robin Padilla reacted to the walking out of the Senate Minority Bloc after Sen. Rodante Marcoleta proposed to amend the rules to allow virtual participation in sessions.
This proposal apparently was made to give way to Sen. Bato dela Rosa, who, once again in hiding, after his surprise Senate appearance to vote for now-Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano.
Based on the report from Politiko, Marcoleta’s proposed amendment will allow a senator to attend sessions and vote through video conferencing.

The current provision limits virtual attendance to instances of force majeure or national emergencies. This did not sit well with the Minority Bloc led by former Senate President Tito Sotto, and so they walked out.
Following this incident, Sen. Robin Padilla expressed his thoughts based on the report from Abante News.
The action star-turned-politician stressed that Zoom meetings or conferences have long been accepted in the government, and his wondering why it has become a problem now.

“Matagal ng tinatagnggap sa pamahalaan ang Zoom para sa mga pagdinig, pagpupulong, at mga proseso. Bakit ngayon ay nagiging pambansang isyu?” he said.
Padilla also pointed out that there are four lawyers in the Majority bloc, and one in the Minority bloc, and if arguments continue, the matter should be dealt with by voting among members.
“Yun ang demokrasya! Majority rules! Minority walk out! I love it!” Sen. Robin Padilla said. This was shared on Reddit, and the husband of celebrity vlogger Mariel Padilla received negative reactions.
Some netizens pointed out that this goes to show that Padilla has no idea about what he was saying, and proved that he has no legal background. For some, the celebrity-politician knows nothing about what was going on, while some pointed out that the Filipino people do not deserve someone like him in the Senate. Here are some comments.
