Senator Robin Padilla floats an “all-girl” team-up in Halalan 2028.
Senator Robin Padilla proposed an all-female tandem of VP Sara Duterte for president and Sen. Imee Marcos for vice president in the 2028 elections.
Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte to run for president in 2028. She announced her 2028 presidential bid, ending years of speculation after she broke away from the Marcos administration.

“I am Sara Duterte. I will run for president of the Philippines,” the vice president said in a press conference at the Office of the Vice President headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
“It took me 47 years to understand that my life was never meant to be only mine,” Duterte remarked, and added, “Unlike others, I may not have been born just to chase happiness.”
Following her announcement, Senator Robin Padilla proposed an all-female tandem for the Halalan 2028. Padilla said, “Yun ang VP ko, si Imee. Si Imee ang gusto ko. Sara-Imee ako eh. Panahon na para maramdaman ng Pinoy ang girl power.”
He explained that it would be a reconciliation team. As for Senator Marcos, she is ready. She also welcomed Duterte’s announcement, which she believed sparked hope among the people.
Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano also wished Duterte well. He expressed, “We’re in a democracy. For me, the earlier na lahat ng kandidato ay mag-announce, better. Bakit? Kasi mas mahihimay nung lahat. Mas bantay ang kanilang kilos. Of course, I wish her well.”
Senator Bong Go also backed the vice president planning to run for president. He refused to answer when asked if he was willing to be Duterte’s VP. What he hoped for was for every Filipino to return to a normal way of life. His goal is to have a government that is honest and genuinely cares for fellow Filipinos.
