This is the alleged reason why Sara Duterte ran for VP
Vice President Sara Duterte allegedly ran as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s running mate in the 2022 elections after learning that Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go also planned to run.
This was revealed by former Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs Jacinto Paras in an interview on Bilyonaryo News Channel’s “On Point” program to debunk Ramil Madriaga‘s statement regarding the alleged term-sharing deal between Marcos and VP Sara.
Para claimed that former President Rodrigo Duterte pushed for Go to be the running mate of Marcos, after the Senator withdrew from becoming a presidential candidate, based on the report from Abante News.
“Ang feeling namin talaga Bong Go will win over Bongbong (Marcos Jr.). But bigla nalang naglaho dahil ayaw na ni Bong Go, nag-withdraw siya. So many were disappointed,” Paras shared.
Paras allegedly talked to the former President about whether Go could change his mind, but his answer was “Hindi na siguro.”
Then, Paras revealed, “Sabi ko ‘Pano si Inday?’ Sabi niya, nagmura si Digong sabi niya ‘Pu… kasi itong’… Nagmura siya and he said na traydor kasi itong si Bongbong at tsaka si Martin [former Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez]. We met one time tapos they betrayed us hindi na sila bumalik kasi sabi niya Bong Go wanted to run for vice president.”
At this time, VP Sara Duterte had reportedly filed his certificate of candidacy for mayor of Davao City. Paras shared that this was during the time when President Duterte, Bong Go, and some other guys met with PBBM as they wanted to request the latter to let Go be his running mate.
Paras said that another was scheduled to take place, but allegedly, PBBM no longer met with the camp of the former President.
Paras said that on the birthday of Tingog party-list Yedda Marie Romualdez, VP Sara was told that if she did not run, her father would push Go to be Marcos’ running mate.
“Parang… pagkasabi ni Presidente (Duterte) sakin, parang inintriga si VP nila Bongbong at ano (Romualdez) na pag hindi ka tumakbong vice president si Bong Go ang ipapasok na vice president,” Paras claimed, adding that he didn’t really know what happened that pushed VP Sara to be PBBM’s running mate.
It was said that PBBM’s camp was telling VP Sara that his father was pushing Bong Go to run for vice president. With this, Paras said that it seemed that VP Sara did not want Bong Go to be Marcos’ running mate, so he just volunteered to run for the said position.
Paras said that he is revealing this information to refute Madriaga’s statement regarding the alleged term-sharing plan between PBBM and VP Sara Duterte.
