Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on OVP’s Commitment To Service
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President assured that she and the Office of the Vice President (OVP) are ready and willing to serve the Philippines even amid a budget cut.
Vice Pres. Duterte is undeniably faced with several issues nowadays. The Vice President was impeached by the House of Representatives last February 5. The complaint was transmitted to the Senate.

Also, this year, the Office of the Vice President operated on a budget that suffered a huge budget cut. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s office budget was reduced to by P1.3 billion to P700 million as the OVP sought a P2 billion budget for 2025.
With regards to the impeachment complaint against her, the Supreme Court recently declared the Articles of Impeachment against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte as “unconstitutional”. According to the high court, it did not follow the one-year rule in the Constitution.

The Senate also recently tackled the Supreme Court ruling on the impeachment complaint against the Vice President. With a 19-5 voting, the Senate ruled to archive the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte. The Vice President thanked God over the ruling of the chamber as per Senator Imee Marcos.

Recently, in an interview, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte assured that her office remains to work. Based on a post of GMA News online, Duterte also stressed that the OVP never stopped from working.
“Patuloy pa rin kami sa pagtatrabaho namin hindi naman kami tumigil sa Office of the Vice President sa pagtatrabaho,” the Vice President said.
Furthermore, based on the post, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also stressed that the entire OVP continued to operate despite the cut in their proposed budget for this year. According to her, they are ready and willing to serve the Philippines.

“Kahit na nakita ninyo na binawasan ‘yung budget tumuloy pa rin ‘yung trabaho namin. Lahat ng personnel including the Vice President sa Office of the Vice President are ready and willing to serve our country,” Duterte said.
With regards to the budget of her office for next year, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed she refused to seek for a higher budget for the OVP in 2026 as she does not want her staff being humiliated during budget scrutiny.
