VP Sara Duterte Claims First Lady Liza Marcos Allegedly “Trash Talk” Her
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos allegedly mistakenly sent her a message at 2:00 o’clock in the morning.
The Marcos Jr.-Duterte rift is no secret to the Filipino populace. The Vice President event believes that the Marcos administration supposedly wants her out from the government. Currently, she is not holding any other key positions aside from being the VP.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte even previously claimed that the Marcos Jr. admin allegedly wants former House Speaker Martin Romualdez to succeed PBBM. According to her, they supposedly still cannot attack her then as she was still part of the Cabinet.
Recently, based on a post of SMNI, during an interview, Vice Pres Sara Duterte recalled that time when she allegedly received the unexpected message from First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in the early hours of the morning. According to the Vice President, the text supposedly read “feel na feel” and it came along with a link of a video of her delivering a speech for Tapang at Malasakit.
Duterte claimed that she knew that the message was not for her as they were not even friends then. She claimed that she initially thought that the First Lady was hacked or was drunk because it was 2 A.M. The Vice President believes its allegedly a “trash talk” which the First Lady supposedly does to her as per some people.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the incident highlighted the First Lady’s sentiments towards her but she did not let it interfere with her obligations as the Vice President.
“Hindi ko na pinansin. Tapos mga 1, 2 days after chineck ko ang kanyang message dinelete niya… Sabi ko tama nga, missent,” Duterte said.
The Vice President explained that while the incident highlighted the First Lady’s sentiments toward her, it did not interfere with her responsibilities as Vice President and as the secretary of the Department of Education then. It was in 2024 when she resigned from being the DepEd secretary and also left the Marcos Jr. Cabinet.
“Wala naman silang ikaka-insecure sakin eh. Tumakbo na nga akong Vice President eh tumutulong na nga ako sa bayan at sa kanila,” the Vice President added based on the post.
The claim of Duterte came amid reports of strained relations between her and Marcos Jr. Their camps, two of the most influential political families in the Philippines, united during the 2022 Elections.
Currently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is faced with 2 impeachment complaints filed before the House of Representatives. There were initially four but the House set aside the first one and the complainants withdrew the second impeachment rap and supported the third impeachment rap.
In the third impeachment complaint filed against her, the following grounds were raised:
- Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes in amassing and converting the amount over PHP 500 million confidential funds (CF) allocated to the Office of the Vice President from 2022 to 2023
- Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes in amassing and converting the amount of not less than PHP 112.5 million of confidential funds allocated to the Department of Education (DepEd) for the year 2023
- Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust by corrupting and bribing officials of the DepEd
- Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes in contracting to murder or assassinate the president, the first lady, and the former speaker of the House
- Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust in amassing unexplained wealth and failing to disclose all her properties and interests in properties in her SALN
- Alleged culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust in committing acts of political destabilization and the high crimes of sedition and insurrection
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she has allegedly confronted Pres. Bongbong Marcos about the impeachment moves against her.
