Jimmy Bondoc reacted to talks about the possible tandem of Sara Duterte and Robin Padilla
Vice President Sara Duterte declared that she will run for president in the 2028 elections, and rumor has it that his running mate would be Senator Robin Padilla, which earned a comment from Atty. Jimmy Bondoc.
The singer, who is active in the political scene, has been known as an avid supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte and VP Sara. Following the Vice President’s declaration of her political plan in the next presidential elections, various reactions were expressed.
Previously, the Malacanang Palace wished her “good luck.” Her supporters and allies were happy about this, while she was criticized by her critics for her early declaration, which, for them, showed that she was just thinking about politics.

Rumors surfaced that VP Sara Duterte’s running mate would be Senator Robin Padilla. This possibility received a positive reaction from Jimmy Bondoc, based on the article in Bandera.
“I mean right now, loyalty is the most precious commodity, and Robin has exhibited that,” the singer said.
He said that he sees the sincerity and willingness of the actor-turned-politician to stand firm amid whatever social issues, even though many people will oppose him.
“If you notice, there has been quite a reversal regarding the public opinion of Robin, even in certain political stalwarts. Kasi right now, nakita na po natin na importante naman po talaga ang edukasyon,” Jimmy said.
The lawyer also said that Padilla has taken on very sensitive issues, such as gender issues, divorce, and constitutional changes. For him, this is a good thing for a candidate for vice president.

“Because ang Vice President usually is an advocate and si Robin is a very strong advocate of even difficult issues,” Jimmy Bondoc added.
Just recently, Sen. Robin Padilla allegedly expressed willingness to be the running mate of Vice President Sara Duterte. However, the Bad Boy of Philippine cinema clarified that the statement was false and he did not say anything about being the running mate of VP Sara.
To recall, back in December last year, Padilla declared that he would not run in the 2028 elections.
