Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Shares Talk w/ Dad Rodrigo over his Friendship w/ Pastor Apollo Quiboloy
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President shared about her father’s joke that he hopes he and Pastor Apollo Quiboloy did not become friends.
Vice Pres. Duterte is currently in the Philippines as previously emphasized by Malacañang as she is in The Hague, Netherlands now for visits to her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Despite being away in the country, she continuously grants interviews and speaks about the key issues in the country.
The Vice President even recently claimed that the International Criminal Court and the Marcos administration allegedly colluded for the arrest of her father. The former President is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity before the ICC over the war on drugs of his admin.
It was last March 11 when the elder Duterte was arrested by the Philippine authorities that assisted the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). On the same day of his arrest, the former Chief Executive was flown to Dubai en route for The Hague where he is detained since March.
The Duterte family members are taking turns in visiting former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte inside the ICC detention facility. His camp has requested for his interim release but recently asked the ICC to delay the making of a decision on their appeal as they await some documents to support the bid.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s close friend and spiritual counsel, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, is also currently under detention. He is detained in Pasig City Jail. He ran for senator in the 2025 Midterm Elections and he was one of the senatorial bet of the Dutertes but he did not win.
A court in Pasig also recently denied the appeal of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy for bail. According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte recently talked about their friendship and fate.
Based on a report on GMA News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte shared that during her visit to her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte claimed that he and Pastor Apollo Quiboloy allegedly have the same palm lines. He also claimed that they have the same fate as well.
“Sabi niya [former Pres. Duterte] na pareho daw sila ng palad ni Pastor Quiboloy, pareho daw sila ng kapalaran,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also recalled the statement of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte that is seemingly a joke. According to her, her father hoped that he did not make friends with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy as they might have both avoided detention.
“Tapos sabi niya, ‘Sana pala hindi na lang kami naging magkaibigan, baka pa hindi kami napunta sa detention,’” she added.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that she and her father both laughed at their conversation. According to her, she told him that their palm lines have nothing to do with what is happening now which are all allegedly due to politics. Recently, amid the flooding in the Philippines, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte slammed the Marcos admin for its response to the flooding in the country.
